Get to know our talented Incubator participants doing great and creative things in and around Bendigo! This week we catch up with Kim Lowe of 2inspire.

Meet Kim Lowe: 2Inspire

Kim has taken a side step off her design and marketing path to pursue her arts practice here in Bendigo. Her recent exhibitions have been a bold exploration of colour in a more abstract style using local heritage, animals and her natural surrounds to create her stunning water colour and acrylic paint works. We caught up with Kim during this years Creative Incubator Program and had a chat about the hopes and vision she has for bringing community together in her creative workshops.

Tell us a little bit about yourself...

Hey, I'm a sole trader, having been in business for myself for 20 years. I provide individuals, businesses and government departments with virtual assistance services including marketing, administration and bookkeeping and also create professional resumes. I am married to Glen, and am Mum to 5 teenage children! I am currently working part-time in marketing at local Interchange LMR and have recently started following my real passion of visual arts - painting. As part of my current work I run workshops for local disability schools and community groups and commission pet paintings, having recently launched my first exhibition. I am also a proud member of Rotary and love getting involved with and supporting my community.

Talk us through your creative practice and business...

Through the expansion of my creative business 2inspire, I hope to bring people together through art for happier, healthier communities.

I am looking to establish a studio/workshop space in Bendigo to offer creative sessions for groups and individuals, with a particular emphasis people with disabilities, youth and elderly. Online painting courses and mail order art kits will also be an option and I would love to continue working in schools and with community groups.
I have some BIG ideas brewing and look forward to exploring and expanding myself and my practice as part of the Emporium Creative Business Incubator program.

Where can you find Kim...?

Kim has been inspired by the success stories of some of our past incubator participants and she says “I know this program is exactly what I need to take my business idea to the next level.” We are excited to have so many talented and diverse artists in our cohort for 2021. Make sure to check out Kim’s socials and online presence on her website or Instagram, you'll learn plenty about workshops, upcoming exhibitions and purchasing.

Kim Lowe ready to get to work on her next big project
