Rosalind Park is a vast green space in the heart of Bendigo, Dja Dja Wurrung Country, with a creek, a fernery, a conservatory and a colony of grey-headed flying foxes. A rich place for field writing – when you pause to look.
This workshop includes 30 minutes of guided field writing in Rosalind Park, followed by a one hour writing workshop that will weave together notes on craft, and learnings from some of the greatest nature writers. The workshop will take place at the Emporium Creative Hub, and be led by local writer and researcher Mia-Francesca McAuslan.
There will be the opportunity for participants to share their work at the Emporium Creative Hub's Friday night networking drinks, Friday 5 November, 5-7pm.
The poet Nathaniel Mckay once asked: could you ever write a poem as intricate as a pinecone?
Possibly not, but come along and try.
This event is supported by City of Greater Bendigo
Access: Field writing in Rosalind Park will take place on flat surfaces and is suitable for all abilities. The Emporium Creative Hub is wheelchair accessible. If you have any access requirements, please get in touch.
